Ah, yes, Silverline. One of my favorite bands. I loved both of their previous projects, Start to Believe and Voices In the Night. So, needless to say, I was very excited for their newest project, Lights Out.
The album starts off with the stand-out track “Hold On.” Definitely an appropriate album opener, it explodes. It’s a great track, and definitely makes you want to keep listening.
Then comes the initial single, “Lights Out.” When I heard it for the first time, I wasn’t sure whether I would like the album. It just didn’t scream “Silverline!” to me. Nonetheless, I have grown to enjoy the track and found that it fit into the album very well.
After a few other strong rock tracks, the Silverline worship band comes out. Personally, I prefer this side of Silverline. Clarifying, they’re also strong on the rock side of things, but their worship music is especially touching.
All in all, this has been one of my favorite albums of this year so far. It was definitely worth the wait, and I’ll be playing it often for sure.
