For those who are new to this group, Rend Collective is a band from Northern Ireland. Their focus is worship, and it’s worship like I’ve never quite heard before.
They have three previous studio albums, and I recommend them all. With a cleanly executed folk sound, they’re easy to listen to at any time. Their latest album, The Art of Celebration, certainly follows the vein of their previous projects.
I was very excited for this album’s release. The lead single, “My Lighthouse” is catchy and a fantastic introduction to Rend Collective. Honestly, there isn’t really a bad song on this album, and I couldn’t pick a definitive favorite. Sounds cheesy, but it’s really that great of an album.
My favorite thing about Rend Collective’s music is their songwriting. I feel that much of the contemporary worship music being released these days is fairly generic, but I feel that Rend Collective is different. Although many of their themes are common to contemporary music, they do it in such a way that always feels fresh.
